Competition Council is an autonomous administrative body aimed at protecting and stimulating competition in order to ensure a normal competitive environment, with a view towards the consumers’ interests.
Competition Council’s role has two major dimensions: a corrective dimension – restoring and maintaining a normal competitive environment and a preventive dimension – monitoring markets and observing the behaviour of the actors participating in such markets.

23.10.2008  - Competition - Ex-officio investigations - by Order no. 35/15.04.2008 an investigation was initiated on the market of taxi services provided within Constanta Municipality concerning the possible infringement of art. 5(1) of Competition Law no.21/1996, republished, by the undertakings involved in taxi activities, as well as of art. 9 of the same Law by the Local Council of Constanta Municipality.
23.10.2008  - investigations -ex -officio - by Order no. 299/27.08.2008 an investigation was initiated on the market of taxi services provided within Timisoara Municipality concerning the possible infringement of art. 5(1) of Competition Law no.21/1996, republished, by the undertakings involved in taxi activities, as well as of art. 9 of the same Law by the Local Council of Timisoara.
23.10.2008  - Investigations -ex -officio - – by Order no. 300/27.08.2008 an investigation was initiated on the market of taxi services provided within Targu Mures Municipality concerning the possible infringement of art. 5(1) of Competition Law no.21/1996, republished, by the undertakings involved in taxi activities.
16.05.2008  - Competition - Complaints / Requests - By Order no.434/14.12.2007 an investigation was opened for analyzing the fulfillment of the conditions provided by art.5 (2) of Competition Law no. 21/1996, republished, in the context of granting individual exemption from the interdiction provided by art.5(1) of the same law, in the case of the exclusive distribution contracts concluded by SC Kandia-Excelent SA and 33 distributors; this investigation was connected with the procedure initiated through Order no. 44/25.02.2008 for analyzing the fulfillment of the conditions provided by art.5(2) in the case of the exclusive distribution contracts concluded by SC Kandia-Excelent SA and 2 distributors.
14.04.2008  - Competition - Complaints / Requests - following a complaint, the Competition Council initiated, by Order no 106/26.03.2008, an investigation on the antibacterials for systemic use drugs market, having as object the alleged infringement of art. 5 paragraph (1) of Competition Law no 21/1996, republished, by Antibiotice Iasi and its distributors.
